On Thursday, June 20, Delta-Montrose Electric Association members will take over Hotchkiss High School for the co-op's annual meeting.
However, calling it a meeting doesn't quite do the event justice this year, because DMEA has planned a night of true family fun -- a magician, live music, carnival games, face painting, and more.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 20 at Hotchkiss High School, 438 Bulldog Street. The fun kicks off at 5 p.m. with a free grilled dinner of local bratwursts from Hotchkiss Meats with all the fixin's, plus pie for dessert.
At this time, members who haven't already voted in DMEA's 2019 board election can also cast their vote. Also during dinner, members can enjoy a magic show by Ty Gallenbeck, who has performed on the popular television show America's Got Talent and in Las Vegas.
The voting polls will close at 6 p.m. sharp, and a short business meeting will be held until 7 p.m. Co-op CEO, Jasen Bronec and board president Bill Patterson will report on the co-op's activities over the past year. Members will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
After that, the real family fun kicks off. Members will head out to the Bulldog Stadium practice field for live music by Neon Sky. There will be a kid's carnival complete with cotton candy, balloon animals, games, and great prizes. Carnival games include putt-putt, darts, ring toss, and more for kids to play.
Kids can redeem their game tickets at the prize booth to win toys, plus have an opportunity to win one of the grand prizes -- a Monster Jam Grave Digger battery-powered rider or a Pink Polaris battery-powered rider.
Members are encouraged to bring their own chairs, and the first 300 to register at the event will also receive a festival blanket so they can enjoy the music on the lawn.
