Dorothy Trebeck Roeber died Oct. 5, 2017, at her son's home in Paonia. She was 91.
She was born to Anton and Julie Trebeck in Hiawatha, Utah, on July 16, 1926. Her family soon moved to Somerset and later to Lamborn Mesa, where she spent the remainder of her life.
On Oct. 15, 1945, she married Clinton Roeber. They were married 60 years and raised four children. He died in 2005, and she stayed in the home until her health required her to move in with family this past year.
Mrs. Roeber took pride in helping others and enjoyed polka dancing, square dancing, playing cards and attending her childrens' and grandchildrens' activities. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia and was involved with religious education for many years.
She is survived by her sons, Father Anthony (Patricia) Roeber of Boalsburg, Pa., Mark (Johanna) Roeber of Paonia, and Chad (Jennifer) Roeber of Carbondale; her sisters, JoAnn (Paul) Desrosiers, Phyllis Valdez and Lorraine "Lora" Hartman; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles; her husband, Clinton; and her only daughter, Denise Kossler.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Paonia on Nov. 4 at 10 a.m.

The Hotchkiss-Crawford Historial Society will host its annual meeting on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2:00 at the Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss. There will be music, refreshments and a guest speaker, Robert Sibernagel. He is well known in the area as he writes regional history columns for The Daily Sentinel. He was formerly the editorial page editor for that paper for 19 years.
