Boys and girls interested in learning fundamental skills and rules of the game will have an opportunity to do so at this year's Eagle Basketball Camp in June.
Interested players in grades 3, 4 and 5 (for the next school year) will receive instruction from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Paonia High School gymnasium on June 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15.
Athletes in grades 6, 7 and 8 (for the next school year) will receive instruction from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on the same days (June 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15).
The cost for this camp is $5 per day, or $25 dollars for all six days. Make checks payable to Paonia Junior High School.
Instructors will be coaches and players from the Paonia basketball program.
Campers will be asked to sign waivers in case of medical emergencies.

Hotchkiss-Crawford Historical Society annual meeting is Sunday

The Hotchkiss-Crawford Historial Society will host its annual meeting on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2:00 at the Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss. There will be music, refreshments and a guest speaker, Robert Sibernagel. He is well known in the area as he writes regional history columns for The Daily Sentinel. He was formerly the editorial page editor for that paper for 19 years.
