The Paonia Eagles scored 87.5 points to finish sixth at the 22-team Valley Classic at Center High School.
In a rematch of the 138-pound championship match at the Jan. 25 Screaming Eagle tournament in Paonia, Sackett Chesnik (24-7) placed second to No. 1 Wesley VanMatre on a 5-3 decision. VanMatre and Chesnik are one and two in 2A On the Mat rankings.
Heavyweight Levi Peterson placed third on fall (1:35) over Christian Matus of Hotchkiss. In the semifinal match, Peterson lost by fall (3:01) to 3A Salida's Juan Doyle (20-7).
Carlos Lozano (170, 17-9) was seeded sixth and placed second on a 12-3 major decision to top-seeded Adam Schulz (23-2) of Crowley County.
Reagan Todd (113, 17-13) was seeded eighth and placed fourth, and Austyn Norris (220, 12-16) placed fifth.

In their dual win over Monte Vista, Reagan Todd won by fall (3:59) over Nathaniel Juarez, Ethan White won by fall (1:13) over Zeb Sandoval, Zeb Etter pinned Zach Hindes in 0:24 for the win, and Lozano followed with a pin (1:17) over Jason Ross. In the only decision of the tournament, Chesnik won by a 5-1 decision over Tyler Vigil. Anthony Felice, Austyn Norris and Peterson won by forfeit.

Against Centauri, Todd won by fall (2:37) over Andrew Ross, Chesnik won by fall (1:35) over Jordon Martin, Norris won by fall (1:07) over Jownes Archuleta, and Peterson won by fall (2:34) over Remi Lucero. Felice won by forfeit.
