Elmer Lou Jackson, 82, died May 16, 2017. He was the son of Louis and Mildred Jackson of Paonia. He was raised in Paonia and graduated from Paonia High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years.
A Christian, he was involved in the Cornerstone Church in Incline Village, Nev., where he lived. He worked at the school there for 20 years before retiring.
He is survived by one sister, Betty Glasgow; one daughter; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned in Apache Junction, Ariz.
During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
