The Cedaredge FoodTown and Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce are proud to sponsor the annual AppleFest apple pie contest.
The contest is open to anyone and consist of two categories -- truly homemade pies and pies baked by commercial bakers. There will be first, second, and third place prizes in both categories. There will not be a grand prize.
The first-place prize is a $50 gift certificate from FoodTown. Second place receives $20 and third place receives $10.
Judging will take place on the porch of the Cedaredge Area Chamber of Commerce office at 245 W. Main Street at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2.
Your pie must be delivered to the chamber office between 8 and 10:30 a.m. on the day of the contest.
"We look forward to having all of our wonderful bakers bringing their pies," said an event sponsor. "Let's kick AppleFest off in a big way this year."
Two of the four marijuana questions on the November ballot were narrowly approved by voters in the City of Delta. Measure 2F allows the establishment of medical marijuana centers. Measure 2H permits the establishment of medical marijuana cultivation, testing, research and manufacturing facilities.
