Ardith "Evelyn" Grant of Hotchkiss died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 87.
Funeral services were held June 11 at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Pastor James Conley officiating. Interment followed in the Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Ardith Evelyn Boughman was born Aug. 8, 1930, to Claude and Eva Boughman. The first 11 years of her life were spent in Snyder, then her family moved to Minturn.
On Aug. 31, 1947, she married Merlin "Leon" Grant in Eagle.
Mrs. Grant was office manager for a medical office. She moved from Fruita to Hotchkiss in 1983. She was a life member of Black Canyon VFW Post #9333 and served as an officer and district officer. She belonged to the Dairyman's and Ostomy Associations. She enjoyed reading, hummingbirds, her flowers, playing computer and board games, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by three daughters, Regina (Floyd) Bufkin of Sun City, Ariz., Patricia Grant of Hotchkiss and Pamela (Larry) Snodgrass of Clifton; a brother, Claud (Lavern) Williams of Greeley; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merlin "Leon" on Feb. 19, 2017; two sons, Terry Grant, an infant child, and Jerry Grant; and one daughter, Barbara Ragsdale.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
