Hotchkiss senior Kaiya Firor was at it again last weekend in Cedaredge. The stellar athlete had a hand in four first-place finishes for the Bulldogs which scored 69 points to finish third in the team race at the Cedaredge Invitational last Saturday.
Firor won three individual titles and helped the 1600m relay team win that race. Firor won the 200m in 25.75, the 400m in 57.75 and 100 hurdles in 16.56. Joining Firor on the 1600m relay team were Lottie Hollembeak, Indigo Miller-Barnes, and Elsie Vazquez. The foursome finished the race with a time of 4:22.59.
Fourth place finishes went to Hotchkiss's 400m and 800m sprint medley relay teams.
Picking up fifth place points for the Bulldogs in individual events were Mariah Griffith (1600m run) and Katie Powers (3200m run).
The Hotchkiss boys earned second place finishes in the 1600m and 800m sprint medley relays. Robert Cochran, Oliver Mendoza, Mordecai White and Saul Cortez crossed the finish line at 3:46.70 in the 1600m relay and Cochran Blaine Peebles, Mendoza and Micah Defield had a time of 1:45.42 in the sprint medley.
Cochran (400m) and Peebles (300 hurdles) picked up points for their fifth place finishes and the 400m relay team placed sixth.
Hotchkiss and Olathe tied for ninth with 33 points each.
