Caleb Frazier and Sameha Haque

Delta High School is proud to announce that Caleb Frazier and Sameha Haque placed at the CHSAA speech and debate state competition in the informative speaking event. Coach Danielle Lopez notes that it is hard to place at state competition because speech and debate does not divide schools by size. For example, if you are a CHSAA wrestler, you wrestle someone in the same sized school (let's say 3A) and the same weight division (within nine pounds of each other). With speech and debate, it is everyone versus everyone. There are no divisions to protect the kids from small, rural, non-affluent communities. So a huge congratulations go to Caleb Frazier for placing seventh and Sameha Haque for placing fifth in informative speaking.

Caleb Frazier and Sameha Haque have also qualified to compete at the National Forensics League tournament in Dallas, Texas, in June. Delta High School is proud to sponsor the national trips through fundraising efforts so no student is denied participation due to finances.
