As the COVID-19 pandemic continues its advancement through the United States, the Colorado High School Activities Association has released its latest updates in spring sports and activities schedules.
On Monday, March 16, Gov. Jared Polis announced the latest restrictions on public gatherings. Polis' announcement ordered the closure of large gathering places across Colorado for 30 day, effective at 8 a.m. Tuesday, March 17. CHSAA determined to follow with suspensions for spring sports and activities being extended to April 18. Schools are encouraged to set stricter standards on student gatherings outside the high school. This suspension means no practices or competition.
All CHSAA music events have been cancelled for 2020 along with the postponement of the State Speech Tournament and Student Council Leadership's Advisor U until later in the spring pending changes in the public gathering restrictions.
