Pediatric Associates in Montrose and Delta is excited to announce a new provider, Rachel Anthony, a pediatric nurse practitioner who specializes in pediatric weight management and nutrition. Anthony has started a weight wellness program called the Pediatric Power Pack Program with the goal of empowering kids and teens to be healthy and live well. She is currently seeing patients on Thursdays alternating between the Delta and Montrose offices. Initial appointments are an hour long to allow for a complete history and physical, along with individualized nutrition counseling with goal setting. To kick off the start of this program, Pediatric Associates will be hosting a Fun Run 5k on July 23 at 9 a.m. at Cerise Park in Montrose. All are welcome. Registration begins at 8:30 and admission is free. T-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 kids who register. Come for a day of fitness, prizes, snacks and fun!

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
