Gladys M. Weldon died Jan. 19, 2018, at the Homestead Assisted Living in Montrose. She was 94.
Gladys M. Jones was born July 3, 1923, in Pine, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Montrose. After retiring from Russell Stover Candy Factory, she volunteered at the Montrose Nursing Home, Northside Elementary School, and Montrose Senior Center, where she earned the Volunteer of the Year award. She enjoyed traveling around the world.
Mrs. Weldon is survived by her children, twins George (Judy) Weldon of Vernal, Utah and Joy (John) Knight of Longmont, Pat (Joan) Weldon of Caldwell, Idaho, John (Karen) Weldon of Paonia, Carolyn (Ed) Conkle of Montrose, Elaine Helmich of North Highlands, Calif., and Cheryl Weldon of Visalia, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews; and one sister, Mildren (Warren) Jones of Longview, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Johnson and Mary Knight; and one brother, George Jones.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held, per her request.
Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory handled the arrangements.
