The 2016 Junior Market Livestock Sale is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the fairgrounds in Hotchkiss. Plan to attend and support the efforts of area 4-H and FFA youth by purchasing quality market livestock animals over the auction block.

The livestock sale is an opportunity to promote your business while obtaining a quality market animal and supporting the future of youth in Delta County. Come bid on a market steer, pig, sheep, goat, pen of chickens, pair of turkeys, pen of rabbits or dairy milk products at the Delta County Fair.

Every animal exhibited and sold at the Delta County Fair has been raised with care and compassion by 4-H and FFA members with the end goal of providing a quality market animal to you and your family.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of buyers, 4-H and FFA members sold 172 animals and the sale generated $228,324. That amazing amount of money shows the support our community has for the next generation of agriculture producers.

Can't make the sale this year but still want to support the kids? Donate to the buyers' pool. Donations of any amount are taken up to sale day. Mail your donation to Gary Peebles, market livestock sale president, at 40555 Hwy. 92, Crawford, CO 81415. You can also leave a donation at the livestock office during fair week.

Questions can be directed to livestocksale@deltacountyfair.com, or to Peebles at 970-234-5386.
