Holy Guardian Angels School is celebrating its 20-year anniversary on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. Come join the celebration at the school at 59350 Carnation Road, Olathe.
Holy Guardian Angels School was founded in Delta in 1998 with two classrooms and 14 students in kindergarten through fourth grades. Two sisters taught all subjects and grade levels.
Currently, there are 38 students taught by three sisters and three teachers, along with many volunteers for grades K-12.
In 2002 the school moved to its present location in Olathe. In addition to the school, there is now a convent and a chapel. The school has always been affiliated with Saint Joseph's Traditional Catholic Church.
The guest of honor for this celebration is Reverend Mother Mary Agnes. She will be honored on her golden jubilee, 50 years of being a sister. She was instrumental in the founding of Holy Guardian Angels School. She served as principal for nine years and is now mother superior of the Sisters Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen in Spokane, Wash.
