Hotchkiss boys, girls third at Twilight; Firor sets hurdle records

The Hotchkiss girls won five events and scored 47 points to place third at the Delta Twilight meet.

Freshman Karlie Egging won the 3200-meter run in a PR of 13:16.20; Kaiya Firor broke her 2018 meet record in both hurdle events, winning the 300m hurdles in 45.61 seconds and the 100m hurdles in 16.89 seconds.

Firor also won the high jump with a height of 4'-11".

Shay Glaser won the triple jump, setting a meet and personal record with a mark of 30'-7".

In the men's division, Hotchkiss scored 47 points. Senior Will Ela won gold in the 3200m run in a PR of 13:16.14, and senior Pablo Camacho won silver with a PR of 14:20.39.

In his first 200m dash race of the season, sophomore Robert Cochran won silver with a personal record time of 24:49. Cochran also won silver in the 300m hurdles in 44.99 seconds.

Blaine Peebles placed third in 300m hurdles with PR of 45.01

In his first 400m dash, Micah Defield placed fourth in 56.8; and in his first ever 800m run, Anthony Scanlon finished fourth in 2:28.85.

The 800m relay team took first with a time of 1:42.84 and the 1600m relay team placed third with a time of 4:06.80.
