The Hotchkiss Bulldogs ended the conference season with a 40-7 loss to the top-ranked Meeker Cowboys Friday night at Bulldog Stadium. Junior Jace Peebles had 16 carries for 74 yards and one fourth-quarter touchdown and Jacob Palecki made three receptions for 52 yards.

On defense, freshman Drayden Taylor and sophomore Adam Smith each had seven solo tackles and combined for five tackles for loss and nine assists. Junior Malykai Klaseen had three tackles and one sack.

Kaiya Firor, a wide receiver, cornerback and kicker, was one of two seniors honored before the game. She was 1-for-1 in PAT attempts. In her only two kickoffs of the season she averaged 58 yards per kick.

The Bulldogs end the season with a 0-5 conference, 2-7 overall record. If all of this year's juniors return, Hotchkiss will have 10 seniors, including Jace Peebles, who ends the season with 1,081 yards rushing and 1,440 total all-purpose yards; receivers Jacob Palecki and Will Scarlett, and quarterback Yahir Chavez, who completed 25 of 82 passes for 398 yards and rushed for 362 yards.

On defense, sophomore Adam Smith led the Bulldogs this season in tackles with 100 total tackles (54 solo, 46 assists), Peebles had 80 total tackles, Traycer Hall had 73, Palecki completed 62 total tackles. The Bulldogs roster also lists 11 sophomores and eight freshmen.
