Adult and youth archery programs are under way at the Ellen Hansen Smith Center, located next to the football field at Paonia Town Park. The After School Archery Program (ASAP) for kids ages 4 through high school will be held from 3-5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Jan. 15. Kids must be able to pull a bow and have a parent accompany them. Pre-registration is not required, but parents will need to fill out a form.
A free beginner adults program is under way and is held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Adult league competitions are held Tuesdays and Saturdays, beginning with a session from 6-7 p.m., followed by competition beginning at 7 p.m. and ending around 9 p.m.
A traditional adult archery competition begins Thursday, Jan. 11, with warm-ups from 5-7 p.m. and league action from 6-8 p.m.
Two of the four marijuana questions on the November ballot were narrowly approved by voters in the City of Delta. Measure 2F allows the establishment of medical marijuana centers. Measure 2H permits the establishment of medical marijuana cultivation, testing, research and manufacturing facilities.
