Cedaredge resident Jayne Countryman died May 7, 2018, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 62.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Cedaredge United Methodist Church.
Jayne Alice Richstatter was born Jan. 30, 1956, to William and Karoline (Poos) Richstatter in Halstead, Kan. She spent her childhood and attended school in Halstead.
On Sept. 30, 1986, she married Stephen Countryman in Cedaredge. They moved back and forth from Kansas to Colorado before finally settling in Cedaredge seven years ago.
Mrs. Countryman was a member of the Cedaredge United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting tiles, stamping greeting cards, camping, traveling and going to cruises with her husband. They cruised to Alaska, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Stephen Countryman; son, Michael (Julie Brown) Antonio; grandchildren, Josef and Mahlorie Antonio; sister, Kathy (Pat) Richstatter; brother, Jonathan (Juanita) Richstatter; step-children, Tammy Dossey, Robin Whitson and Troy Countryman; and four great-grandchildren, Conrad and Leanna Antonio and Marcellus and Thelonious Parker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
