Cedaredge resident Joan M. Cronin died April 12, 2017, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. She was 89.
At her request, no services will be held.
Joan Larkin was born Sept. 11, 1927, to John and Lucille (Hackett) Larkin in Sioux City, Iowa. She spent her childhood in Minneapolis, Minn.
After completing her education, Mrs. Cronin had a successful career as a vice president for a small publishing company and went on to establish her own advertising agency. After she retired, she joined the Peace Corps and served two assignments in the West Indies. She provided marketing and product advice for the sale and export of local products.
She enjoyed painting, reading, traveling, animals and spending time with family.
She is survived by three sons, James (Yvette) Cronin, John Cronin and Kevin Cronin; three daughters, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Hirschboeck, Maureen (Paul) Matyas and Sheila (Grady Lang) Cronin; two brothers, Daniel Larkin and Robert Larkin; one sister, Kathleen Hood; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Dalton.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
