JoAnn (Jody) N. Evans, 88, died Sept. 3, 2017, at Center Rehabilitation and Nursing while under the compassionate care of Pathways Hospice.
Jody was born June 6, 1929, on a ranch near Crawford, Colo. After high school she attended Colorado A&M where she met and married Tom Evans. They shared marriage for nearly 65 years, until Tom's death.
Jody continued her education while raising three children, eventually becoming a cytotechnologist. She worked in labs at Brooks Army Base and Southwest Texas School of Medicine until returning to Fort Collins. Jody retired from CSU where she had worked as a tech at the "Bull Farm" and the vet hospital.
When not raising kids and working, Jody enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and growing orchids and reading. Jody enjoyed the friendship of neighbors and folks at the Buckeye Community Center and the First United Methodist Church.
Jody is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Joyce Evans and Pat and Patsy Evans and daughter Kayleen Evans as well as grandchildren Sara (Chris) Kirol, Kim (Tom) Chain, Chris (Sara) Evans and Jody Elin Evans. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Kylee and Kaitlyn, Isabelle, Callie, Draik and Gwen and Brynn and Evan.
She was preceded in death by parents, Mina and Buford Crisler and brother, Loren Crisler.
Following cremation a memorial service was held on Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, Fort Collins, Colo. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Wellington Fire Protection District, the Buckeye Community Center or a charity of choice. On Dec. 2, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male with a bleeding injury on his neck.
