Longtime Delta resident Joanne I. Phillips died Oct. 26, 2017. She was 82.
She was born Feb. 22, 1935, in Detroit, Mich., to Fred and Isabel (Ulrich) Schehr. She spent her childhood in Detroit and New Baltimore, Mich., where she graduated from Anchor Bay High School in 1953.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Delta Christian Church and a lifetime member of the Delta VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, yardwork and camping. She also enjoyed traveling in her RV, which she did for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold Phillips of Delta; one stepson, Stephen (Charlotte) Phillips of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Mary Jo (Eugene) Grant of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Gabriel.
