On Dec. 2, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male with a bleeding injury on his neck.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is looking to expand its team of volunteers for the upcoming tax season. Tax-Aide, now in its 51st year, offers free in-person preparation and assistance to anyone, especially those 50 and older, who can't afford a tax preparation service.
AARP provides free tax service to seniors and low-income residents in the weeks leading up to April 15.
Additional volunteers are sought to serve as tax preparers.
AARP Colorado AARP is now accepting nominations for its 2018 Colorado Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors 50-plus Coloradans who are sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.
"AARP Colorado is excited to shine a light on 50-plus Coloradans who are using what they've learned in life to make a difference in the lives around them," said Bob Murphy, AARP Colorado state director.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation help to anyone, especially those who are 50 and older, who can't afford a tax preparation service.
Tax-Aide is the nation's largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers are trained and IRS-certified each year to ensure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the U.S. Tax Code.
