The ROV was able to locate the snowcat the men were reportedly driving across the lake, as well as the two bodies, in approximately 65 feet of water.

Michael Johnson, 43, of Austin, died as the result of a traffic accident Friday, Jan. 25. The accident occurred on Highway 92 near the intersection with 1900 Road east of Delta at about 7:40 a.m.
When Paonia resident Peggy Clements was on the cusp of life and death, the Threshold Choir of Paonia came to her bedside and sang. Clements passed away on Jan. 13, six weeks shy of her 105th birthday. Clements' daughter, Karen Budinger, said it was comforting to her mother to have the choir sing to her. "They would come, sing songs, and leave quietly," she said.
Bob Castoe, a longtime resident of Cedaredge, died as the result of a snowmobile accident that occurred on Grand Mesa Christmas Day.
The Delta County Sheriff's Office was alerted to a lost snowmobiler at about 7:45 p.m., when Castoe failed to meet a fellow snowmobiler at Alexander Lake Lodge.
An initial autopsy report indicates that an elderly Cedaredge couple died of carbon monoxide poisoning. The Delta County Sheriff's Office reports that John Thompson, 88, and Joan Thompson, 81, were found by a neighbor the morning of Dec. 5.
On Monday, Nov. 26, at approximately 10:41 p.m., Delta Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 near mile marker 69 in North Delta. As officers arrived on scene they discovered a passenger car and a semi truck involved in what appeared to be a head-on collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 50.
Fred Johnson, 78 of Cedaredge, died in a motorcycle accident that occurred Nov. 14 at about 2:15 p.m. The Colorado State Patrol responded to the crash involving a 2008 Honda motorcycle at mile marker 54 on Highway 50.
The North Fork Valley has lost one of its richest sources of local history. Lee McMurtry "Chuck" Farmer passed away Nov. 3. Farmer shared his passion for local history through presentations, field trips, and for the past few years, as president of the Hotchkiss-Crawford Historical Society.

Joshua George, 26, and Jonathan Alonzo, 27, both of Delta, have been identified as the two men found dead in the roadway near L and 3100 roads outside of Hotchkiss early Sunday morning. Hunter Norman, 20, of Paonia was killed in a rollover accident on Lands End Road near Whitewater. The crash occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday, May 6.

On Friday, Feb. 10, Stephen Felix, a 52-year-old male from Olathe, was brought to Montrose Memorial Hospital by the Olathe Ambulance in an unconscious state. Radiologic examination revealed traumatic injuries and an acute subarachnoid hemorrhage over his brain.

An elderly Cedaredge man was killed Thursday, Feb. 23, after a fire swept through his trailer house at 24693 Cedar Mesa Road, Cedaredge, at about 11 p.m. The Delta County Sheriff's Office has identified the deceased man as Robert Nicodemus, 89.

Mike Salazar, 65, of Delta died in an auto accident on Graff Road at about 7 p.m. Oct. 8.
The Colorado State Patrol reports Salazar's 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed on Graff Road when the driver lost control and the vehicle began to rotate clockwise.
