The North Fork Pool, Parks and Recreation District sees a brighter future after voters approved a mill levy increase in the Nov. 6 election.

The increase of 1.607 mills, approved by an unofficial vote of 2,407-2,014, will bring the mills to 2.5 and increase revenues by $128,305 for 2019.

GOCO grant makes dream of fields a reality

Thanks to a generous grant from Great Outdoors Colorado, kids will be playing at a new youth baseball and softball complex in the North Fork.

The North Fork Pool, Parks & Recreation District was notified by GOCO last week that it will receive a $350,000 Local Park and Outdoor Recreation (LPOR) grant to build ballfields and amenities at Crossroads Park on Bulldog Street in Hotchkiss.

NFPPR survey to help guide GOCO grant app.

The North Fork Pool, Parks & Recreation District has partnered with Hotchkiss Home Plate Baseball Association to build a baseball and softball complex to the North Fork Pool on Bulldog Street. They are currently working on a Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant application to fund the project.

Rec district, baseball group join forces to build ballfields

After many years, the North Fork Pool, Park and Recreation District is moving forward on its next phase to bring more recreational opportunities to the valley, this time in the form of new baseball and softball fields.

"We have partnered with Hotchkiss Home Plate to continue our master plan of building baseball fields at the Crossroads property," said Lenore Cambria, the district administrator of the NFPPRD.
