Last week, the Food for Thought program was recognized as the only three-time recipient of a State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant in the United States. Such a remarkable accomplishment required a celebration to match, so Vision Charter Academy took the show on the road, starting a kick-off celebration at its Delta campus.
In just 10 days in August, 167,000 people cast 4.5 million votes in support of their favorite causes. As a result, 40 communities, in 19 states, including Delta, will be getting an assist from State Farm.
Willyn Webb, executive director of Vision Charter Academy and leader of the Food for Thought program, recently updated State Farm agents on the "kids feeding kids" program in Delta County schools.
Food for Thought is a two-time recipient of the State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant of $25,000, for a total of $50,000.
