Representatives from 20 various Surface Creek nonprofits, churches and other organizations gathered together May 1 to discuss the challenges they face and how to better collaborate.
"There's a lot of you working together on various projects and I wonder if there's a way for us to work smarter, not harder," said Kami Collins, economic development coordinator for the Town of Cedaredge.
A summit held Feb. 9 to address the unmet needs of local nonprofits attracted 14 representatives from about a half dozen local non-profits.

KVNF Community Radio and Alpine Bank are partnering to create The Alpine Bank Community Matching Fund. The fund supports the region's nonprofits to share their message throughout KVNF's listening area.
Nonprofit organizations in the Cedaredge area need to make sure the Western Colorado Community Foundation knows who they are.
The Western Slope Community Foundation of Grand Junction hopes soon to have $6,000 available to nonprofit organizations in the Cedaredge area.
