Kiwanis International and Walmart are the major sponsors of the 2019 summer reading program, "A Universe of Stories." Every summer, Delta County Libraries offers a countywide reading program for all ages, with fun family events and incentives for reading. "This program has always been supported by the community," says Lea Hart, district director of Delta County Libraries. "We are so grateful to have Kiwanis and Walmart as sponsors this year. Their support has provided us flexibility to develop exceptional programming aimed at engaging more families in reading over the summer." Tying to this year's theme, through July, each library is offering a schedule of space-themed events, along with the reading component. Countywide kick-off parties the week of June 3 brought hundreds of families to the libraries to register for the program while enjoying ice-cold treats, games, crafts, and even a planetarium experience. Representatives from Kiwanis and Walmart attended the party at Delta Library, handing out popsicles to over 100 participants.

Registration for the program is available at any library in Delta County or online at www.deltalibraries.org.
