Last weekend's L.A.P.S. (Learn and Play Sports) mini-track meet was hosted by Bill Heddles Recreation Center.
The event was open to children ages 3-5 and provided insight into an outdoor awareness to sports.
Though the number of participants was small, the morning was fun for those who competed.
There were six events for competition; triple jump, sprint race, frisbee throw, hurdles, softball toss and lap race.
Triple jump winners, for the girls, were Elizabeth Moore, first place and Baelei Pitt, second place. Winners in the boys division were; first place, Koy Kasten; second place, Ryder Nelson; third place, Hank Stooksberry and fourth place, Isaias Diaz Adame.
The following winners for the sprint race were, girls; first place, Elizabeth Moore and second place, Baelei Pitt. Boys winners included, first place, Koy Kasten; second place, Ryder Nelson; third place, Hank Stooksberry and fourth place, Isaias Diaz Adame.
Frisbee throw winners for the girls were, first place, Moore and second place, Pitt. Nelson was first in the boys division followed by Adame, Stooksberry and Kasten.
In the hurdles race, Moore was first and Pitt was second. Kasten won the boys competition with second through fourth going to Stooksberry, Nelson and Adame.
Moore won the girls' softball throw and Pitt finished second. Kasten was the top thrower in the boys division with Nelson second, Adame third and Stooksberry fourth.
In the lap race, Moore was the girls winner and Pitt finished second. The boys winners were Kasten, Nelson, Stooksberry and Adame.
