If you waited until the last minute to mail your election ballot, there's still hope. In the North Fork area there are two locations where ballots may be dropped off by no later than 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.
In Hotchkiss, ballots may be dropped off between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., at the Delta County North Fork Annex, 196 W. Hotchkiss Avenue.
In Paonia, ballots may be dropped off between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Paonia Town Hall.
Ballot envelopes must be signed by the voter in the space provided or they will be considered ineligible.
The Delta County Independent will post results as they become available Tuesday evening, April 5, to Facebook and to its website at www.deltacountyindependent.com.
During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
