March 31:

An officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of E. 5th Street to assist Montrose Police Department with an investigation.

Officers responded to Bob Jay Park at 4th and Columbia streets on a report of a female urinating in the park. Linda Sue Zimmerman, 58, of Springfield, Mo., was issued a ticket for alleged indecent conduct.

An officer responded to Delta County Memorial Hospital on a report of a dog bite.

George Walter Bryant, 34, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged theft and third degree trespass.

April 1:

A theft was reported at Delta Middle School.

Officers responded to Confluence Park to assist with the removal of "campers" in the park. Cody Alan Ditmore, 20, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with no bond and a second warrant with a $5,000 bond.

Jade Zara Rodriguez, 29, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed on a no bond warrant and a warrant with a $10,000 bond.

An officer took a report of a stolen Coleman CT200U minibike.

Shane Robert McNeese, 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.

April 2:

Linda Jo Howell, 68, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged obstructing government operations, disorderly conduct and Third degree trespass.

A 12-year-old female was reported as a runaway.

An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Grand Avenue on a report of theft and trespass.

April 3:

Officers responded to Wendy's on a report of suspicious activity. Rebbecca Sue Ruiz, 32, of Montrose was arrested and jailed for alleged possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance and indecent exposure.

April 4:

Officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of H-38 Road for a disturbance. Daniel Joseph Winter, 40, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault as an act of domestic violence, violation of a restraining order, unlawful use of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Daniel Joseph Winter, 40, of Delta was arrested and jailed on two warrants with a total of $800 in bond.

An officer responded to Safeway on a report of fraud and criminal impersonation.

An officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of Crawford Avenue on a report of shots fired. Floyd Gene Proctor, 65, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged discharge of a gun prohibited.

A 14-year-old female was reported as a runaway. She was located safely a short time later.

Matthew Leroy Garcia, 39, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of bail bond conditions.

April 5:

Officers responded to the 300 block of W. 3rd Street for a suspicious incident. An abandoned vehicle was towed from the scene and stolen property was recovered.

An officer responded to the west alley of the 100 block of Dodge for a vehicle blocking the alley. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

An officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Crawford Avenue on a report of trespass. Jonathan Wilfred Lopez, 65, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged second degree criminal trespass.

An officer responded to Abraham Connection to assist with a person having a medical emergency.

April 6:

Katrina Arlene Beebe, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,000 bond.

Officers responded to a property in the 2100 block of South Main Street on a report of an open door. The building was checked for intruders and secured.

Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Palmer Street for a reported disturbance. Jose Luis Rodriguez, 29, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to the area of E. 6th Street and Howard Street on a report of concern for welfare on an adult male who had allegedly fallen down. Jason Robert Hinchman, 41, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.

Officers responded to the 900 block of E. 16th Street for a possible disturbance.

Reminder: The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

April 2:

Deputies responded to a complaint about a barking dog in the Delta area. They were unable to reach the owner of the dog in person or by telephone.

Deputies responded to a civil problem on 2200 Road, Delta, where a ditch was being burned for the season. A male party was verbally aggressive toward the employees burning the ditch, and fearing for their safety, they asked deputies to stand by until the burning was complete.

A family member from Mississippi reported a possible case of elder abuse involving an Eckert resident.

April 3:

Deputies responded to a possible domestic dispute at a residence on Lamborn Mesa Road, Delta.

The theft of irrigation pipe was reported from property along Highway 92 near Delta. The suspect was identified as the previous owner of the property. Deputies determined the incident to be civil, but it could become criminal if the previous owner comes to the property again.

Deputies spoke to a Montrose woman who suspected a sex offense involving her daughter.

Deputies investigated a 911 hang-up call originating from a residence on Old Wagon Road near Delta.

April 4:

A woman who suspected her neighbor of illegally burning his ditches contacted the sheriff's office. Deputies traveled to the location on Highway 65 near Delta and determined there was no criminal activity.

Deputies received a request for a welfare check at an address on Greenwood Avenue in Crawford.

A dog was reported running at large and acting in a vicious manner in the Crawford area. The owner was issued a summons.

A Delta area resident reported a possible break-in at a workshop located on F Road.

At about 3:40 p.m., a tractor caught fire at an address on L Road near Hotchkiss. Damage was minor.

April 5:

At about 11 a.m., a fire was reported in the 7000 block of Highway 65. An agricultural burn got out of control, causing damage to a power pole. Delta Fire and DMEA responded to the incident.

An investigation was opened into a case of possible animal abuse at a Paonia address. The reporting party advised several animals appeared to be malnourished and the sudden disappearance of a goat was suspicious.

At about 2:40 p.m., deputies responded to a four-vehicle accident in the area of Highway 65 and Justice Road, Eckert. The investigation was handled by the Colorado State Patrol.

At about 3:50 p.m., deputies received a report of an out-of-control agricultural fire on Austin Road near the town of Austin. Fenceposts were damaged.

During a traffic stop in the 600 block of Highway 92, a Colorado State Patrol trooper discovered illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. The sheriff's K-9 team arrived on scene to dispatch. Kathryn Chaney, 58, was taken into custody.

April 6:

Deputies were asked to respond to an address on Canal Street, Austin, due to longterm verbal arguments between adults.

Deputies investigated a case of possible criminal mischief at an address on Highway 65 in Eckert. The reporting party advised someone had come onto her property, moved a bridge and cut a fence.

The theft of two snowmobile panels was reported from an address on Stevens Gulch Road near Paonia.

A Delta area resident filed a complaint about two four-wheelers driving too fast on the roadway and tearing up private property.

Deputies responded to a neighborhood dispute on Sundown Road near Delta.

Deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a one-vehicle, no-injury accident at Highway 65 and North Road.

April 7:

Deputies were dispatched to Delta County Memorial Hospital to speak with the victim of a rollover accident that occurred the night before. The accident remains under investigation.
