April 7:

Alan Scott Hawk, Jr., 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $4,000 bond.

Alan Scott Hawk, Jr., 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of bail bond conditions.

At 12:46 a.m., an officer took a report of a runaway juvenile. The child returned home several hours later.

Officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Villa Street on a report of a disturbance.

April 8:

An officer responded to Delta Ace Hardware on a report of criminal mischief (property damage).

Code enforcement responded to the 900 block of Main Street for a dog running loose. Susan A. Muth, 59, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged animal license required and running at large - second offense.

An officer responded to Clubb's on a report of counterfeit currency.

David Rufus Waddington, 22, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.

Code enforcement located a dog running loose in the area of Meeker and E. 11th Street. Rachel Sanchez, 27, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged animal license required and running at large.

A resident in the 1300 block of E. 3rd Street reported her purse stolen from her yard.

April 9:

An officer responded to Delta Middle School on a Safe-2-Tell report.

Officers responded to the intersection of E. 3rd Street and Leon Street for a single vehicle accident involving a fire hydrant. An 87-year-old male driver was having a medical emergency and was transported by Delta County Ambulance to Delta County Memorial Hospital.

An officer responded to the 600 block of Silver on a report of kids throwing rocks. No injuries were reported or observed. No property damage was reported or observed.

April 10:

Officers responded to Maverik Gas Station, on a report of a stolen vehicle. Hale Christopher Manning, 35, of Paonia was arrested and jailed for alleged aggravated motor vehicle theft.

Code enforcement responded to a residence in the 1500 block of E. 5th Street on a report of a dog running loose. The dog owner was notified and the dog was properly confined. A verbal warning to the owner.

An officer responded to a residence in the 600 block of Dodge for a suspicious incident.

An officer took a report of a lost/stolen cell phone.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Palmer Street for an accident involving a parked vehicle. Randal Rolando Rios, 59, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving and driving while license revoked. Both vehicles appeared to be drivable.

April 11:

Officers responded to Willow Tree Care Center on a report of suspicious activity.

An officer responded to Alta Vista Apartments to assist with a person having a medical emergency.

An officer responded to Delta High School on a report of criminal mischief involving a vehicle.

An officer took a report of a Savage rifle found in the 700 block of E. 5th Street.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Main Street on a report of a man breaking windows and other items at three businesses on Main Street. Hale Christopher Manning, 35, of Paonia was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief, violation of bail bond conditions and violation of a criminal protection order.

April 12:

Code enforcement followed up on a Notice of Violation for Keeping of Junk at a property in the 1300 block of S. Main Street. The junk has been removed and the violation corrected.

An officer took a report of a possible fraud.

Code enforcement picked up a dog running loose in the area of 4th Street Hill. The dog was claimed by the owner with a verbal warning.

An officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of E. 4th Street on a report of criminal mischief.

An officer visited a residence at Alta Vista Apartments to follow up on some information for another agency.

A vehicle was reported abandoned at Walmart. It had been reported stolen out of Delta. It was towed from the scene.

An officer responded to El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant for a report of a "dine and dash" theft.

Officers responded to Bridge Street and Confluence Drive for a two-vehicle accident. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Officers responded to an assault in the 1000 block of Ray Avenue.

Officers responded to Alta Vista Apartments for a disturbance.

Officers responded to a residence in the 700 block of Cypress Wood Lane to assist with a person having a medical emergency.

April 13:

Officers responded to a burglary in the 200 block of Columbia Street.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of North Palmer Street. Tyler Anthony Saenz, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $400 bond.

Officers responded to Delta County Memorial Hospital on a report of a possible wanted person being there. Bryce Daniel Cockroft, 42, of Hotchkiss was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total of $15,000 in bonds.

Officers responded to the 900 block of E. 16th Street for a possible disturbance.

Reminder: The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

April 9:

Deputies responded to a call for medical assistance from a PACE bus traveling on Highway 92. A 71-year-old female passenger had passed out near mile marker 13. She was alert and speaking when transported to the hospital.

Deputies arrested Jac Bingham, 36, of Delta near the address of 5429 2000 Road on multiple outstanding and felony warrants.

Deputies responded to an address on Greenwood Avenue, Crawford, for a male party who was reportedly trespassing.

April 10:

Deputies investigated a hit-and-run accident involving a fence on Ward Creek Road near Cedaredge.

Sheriff's deputies assisted the Delta Police Department with an emergency child custody incident at an elementary school in Delta.

Deputies responded to a medical situation involving a 42-year-old Cedaredge female with possible mental issues.

April 11:

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on East Spring Circle, Eckert. Due to lack of probable cause, no arrests were made.

Deputies assisted a Bureau of Land Management officer with a possible protection order violation that had come across while investigating a traffic accident in BLM land on Doughspoon Road, near Delta.

April 12:

Sheriff's deputies and the K-9 team served a search warrant at a residence on 5th Street in Delta. No arrests were made at the time.

A Hotchkiss area resident reported the theft of a camera from his residence on Ash Lane.

Deputies were asked to check the welfare of two children at a residence in Eckert. Two juveniles were found to be okay; one had minor injuries. Child Protective Services placed both juveniles with someone for the weekend and the mother was charged with child abuse.

April 13:

Dispatch received a report of an out-of-control controlled fire on Creek View Lane near the town of Eckert. The property owner had given proper notice that he would be conducting an agricultural burn and no citations were issued.

Deputies responded to an animal control issue at Delta County Memorial Hospital. A female patient reported she'd walked into a neighbor's yard to pet a dog and the dog bit her on the hand. The incident occurred on Uintah Road near Cedaredge.

At the request of detention officer, the sheriff's K-9 team conducted a narcotics sniff in the jail.

April 14:

At about 12:30 a.m., deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with a one-vehicle accident on Bone Mesa Road near Paonia. The sole occupant of the vehicle was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

A fire was reported on a hillside near the address of 5705 1245 Road in Delta. The property owner was cited for failing to call the burn line before burning ditches.

Deputies investigated an assault that occurred at the jail.

Deputies responded to the Delta County Jail to assist the Paonia Police Department with a chemical test on a DUI suspect.
