Dec. 21:

Jesse Allen McAfee, 35, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged trespass at Delta Timber, 519 Highway 92.

Officers responded to the intersection of E. 4th Street and Grand Avenue for a two-vehicle crash. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Craig Lynn Nelson, 60, of Mancos was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.

A wallet was turned in at the police department as found property. The owner was identified and the property is being held for safekeeping pending pickup.

Dec. 22:

An officer was on routine patrol in the area of Highway 92 and Heinz Street when he observed a male party lying next to a building. Traven James Cortland Horner, 22, of Delta was arrested and jailed on four warrants with a total of $5,550 bond.

Officers responded to a residence on Rainbow Street for a disturbance.

Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Palmer Street on a report of trespassing.

Jesse Allen McAfee, 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with $750 bond.

Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of W. 6th Street on a report of trespassing.

An officer tagged an abandoned vehicle in the 800 block of 1575 Road, advising the owner it needed to be removed.

Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Vine Street for a disturbance.

Officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of H-38 Road for a disturbance. Tyler Anthony Saenz, 36, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged harassment.

Toby Gordon Piepgrass, 41, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged harassment as an act of domestic violence and child abuse - simple (two counts.

Christopher Daniels Johnson, 23, of Grand Junction was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,500 bond and another warrant with no bond.

Brandon Edward Huff, 22, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $4,000 bond.

Wendell Christopher Harmon, 43, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $750 bond.

Dec. 23:

An officer responded to a residence on Glen Way to assist with a person having a medical issue.

An officer responded to the 1300 block of Grand Avenue for a report of criminal mischief.

An officer placed a "Notice to Remove" tag on an abandoned vehicle near W. 4th Street and Columbia Street.

Dec. 24:

Officers responded to the 400 block of W. 4th Street on a report of a one-vehicle crash. No injuries were observed or reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Bernard Kokyung Hong, 29, of Texas was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total of $6,250 bond.

Officers responded to Delta County Memorial Hospital for a disturbance.

Dec. 25:

Officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of E. 5th Street for a disturbance. Ciara Ashley Gordon, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault as an act of domestic violence.

An officer responded to 1055 E. 3rd Street, Delta City Cemetery, on a report of a burglary. Unknown persons entered the secured building and removed multiple power tools.

Officers responded to an address in the 900 block of E. 11th Street for a disturbance. Kaimi Sue Weatherford, 34, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged harassment.

Dec. 26:

An officer responded to 531 Main Street, Morris Optical, 531 Main Street, for a suspicious activity.

An officer responded to a burglary at a vacant residence in the 100 block of W. 6th Street.

An officer responded to the 100 block of Main Street for a hit and run accident involving a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported or observed.

A theft was reported in the 800 block of 1575 Road.

An officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of 1575 Road for a possible hit and run accident with damage to a gate.

An officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of Hastings for suspicious activity.

Brian Allen Acklin, 42, of Olathe was arrested and jailed on a warrant with $300 bond.

Officers responded to El Tapatio Restaurant, 353 Main Street, for a disturbance. Chandler Lee Salazar, 42, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.

Dec. 27:

Officers responded to a residence in 500 block of E. 10th Street for a possible violation of a restraining order.

An officer responded to the area of W. 5th Street and Columbia Street for a vehicle parked on the side of the road with no valid registration.

Ricky Dean Rarick, 54, of Cedaredge was issued a ticket for alleged littering.

Alan Scott Hawk Jr., 34, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting from Safeway.

Officer W. Hammon and K-9 Raico responded to the area of Stafford Lane and Highway 92 on a request for tracking a person suspected of criminal activity. K-9 Raico located the male subject who was taken into custody without further incident.

Alan Scott Hawk Jr., 34, of Delta was arrested and jailed on three warrants with a total of $3,610 in bonds.

Officers took a report of third degree assault and violation of a protection order. A warrant for Justin Ray Ritter, 29, of Delta has been issued.

Officers responded to the 1600 block of H-38 Road for suspicious activity.

Officers responded to the area Circle Drive and Valley View Drive on a report of a man who had fallen down. Christopher Adrian Rubalcaba, 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.

Reminder: The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Dec. 22:

At about 11:15 a.m., a shop fire was reported at the Greenwood home on Orchard Grove Road, Eckert. When deputies arrived on the scene, the fire had been contained by Cedaredge firefighters, with the help of a man with a garden hose. It's believed the fire originated in a wood stove in the shop. The shop was not occupied and there were no injuries. There was minor damage to drywall and the roof of the shop.

A two-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 50, mile marker 64, near Delta, at about 7 p.m. The Colorado State Patrol and EMS handled the incident while deputies provided traffic control.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Happy Hollow Road, Eckert.

Dec. 23:

A Toyota Camry driven by Zachary Cordova, 26, of Delta rolled several times during an accident that occurred near 21050 Highway 92 at about 1:50 a.m. Cordova reported he'd fallen asleep. He was not seriously injured. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.

At about 2:15 a.m., a house fire was reported at 16574 Bull Mesa Road, Cedaredge. The owner, Michael Young, was not on the premises at the time. The cause of the fire is unknown. Cedaredge Fire Department and the American Red Cross responded to the incident.

Montrose County deputies responding to a disturbance at an Olathe residence determined the incident started with a vehicle stolen from an address on H Road near Delta. A family member spotted the stolen truck, a 1996 Ford Ranger, and followed it to the Olathe address. Ownership of the vehicle appears to be in dispute and the investigation is continuing.

Dec. 23:

Deputies investigated a reported theft of antlers.

A structure fire was reported at 40016 Cedar Drive, Paonia, at about 5 p.m. There was significant damage to a detached garage and the contents inside. The property owner, Lisa Swartz, said she'd cleaned out the fireplace in the house and left the embers in a five-gallon metal bucket. Two days later she dumped the contents into a wooden compost bin, which may have caused the blaze. There were no injuries.

Dec. 24:

Deputies responded to an address on Rimrock Road, Hotchkiss, to recover a stolen vehicle.

At about 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to an accident on Highway 65 in Eckert. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.

Dec. 25:

Deputies were dispatched to a Cedaredge address to assist the Cedaredge Police Department with man threatening to commit suicide.

Dec. 26:

Deputies responded to a family disturbance at an apartment in the Hotchkiss area.

Dec. 27:

Deputies responded to a family disturbance at a residence in the Paonia area.

Jason Warrington, 44, of Hotchkiss was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant at his residence in Hotchkiss. While deputies were patting him down, they located a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and a small container with suspected methamphetamine. He faces additional charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and bail bond violations.
