March 17:

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Dodge. Angel Monique Padilla, 29, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged four counts of child abuse - simple and criminal mischief as an act of domestic violence.

Irving Ismael Curiel Moreno, 26, of Crawford was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief, driving under the influence (alcohol) and open alcohol container.

Joshua Ramon Lujan, 23, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a Schedule 2 controlled substance.

Jesse Allan McAfee, 36, of Delta was issued a no trespass order.

Ricky Dean Christenson, 41, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful distribution/manufacture/dispense/sale of controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Shaun Mikel Brown, 40, of Clifton was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 17:

An officer responded to 1491 Highway 50 on a report of criminal mischief.

Code enforcement followed up on keeping of junk complaints at numerous homes in Delta. All properties are up to code.

Petra Renee Kasamis, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $750 bond.

An officer responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 100 block of E. 4th Street. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Rhonda Adela Gonzales, 50, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful distribution/manufacturing/dispensing/sale/possession of a controlled substance, special offender, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, violation of a protection order and possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 19:

Robert Wilmer Schmalzried, Jr., 63, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged failed to display valid registration, displayed fictitious license plates, failed to provide evidence of insurance, defective vehicle and drove motor vehicle without a valid driver's license.

Officers responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Palmer Street. Jon Michael Jeffreys, 48, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order as an act of domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.

An officer responded to a residence in the 1100 block of E. 5th Street on follow-up and located a stolen vehicle. Wayne Mose Ortiz, 38, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged aggravated motor vehicle theft.

George Elmer Hambelton, 24, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged dog running at large (second offense), rabies vaccination required and city animal license required.

An officer responded to City Market on a report of found property. The found item was identified as an unlawful Schedule 2 controlled substance and was collected for destruction.

Officers responded to the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 92 for a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

March 20:

Officers responded to a burglary at 1102 Grand Avenue. No one was located in the building and the building was secured by the owner.

A two-vehicle accident occurred at Pioneer Road and E. 16th Street. Garret Samuel Burk, 18, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way when turning left.

Raul Antonio Coronado-Gonzalez, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a no bond warrant.

March 21:

An officer responded to Delta County Memorial Hospital for a suspicious incident.

Officers responded to Four Seasons River Inn for a suspicious incident.

March 22:

Officers responded to a possible burglary and trespass at 520 Highway 92.

An officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of Willow Wood Lane on a report of suspicious activity.

An officer responded to a two-vehicle accident at 102 Main Street. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Eric TJ Abeyta-Woods, 32, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $250 bond.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Highway 50 for a faulty head lamp. Lance Atwood Koch, 32, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged failed to display lighted lamps when required, driving a motor vehicle while license revoked and driving under the influence (alcohol).

March 23:

Alan Scott Hawk Jr., 35, of Cedaredge was issued a ticket for alleged trespass at Walmart. He was jailed on a warrant with a $250 bond.

An officer responded to a residence in the 200 block of Dodge Street to take a report of a runaway juvenile.

An officer responded to the area of 5th and Main Streets for a two-vehicle accident. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

An officer responded to the intersection of 1800 road and G Road for a two-vehicle accident. No injuries were reported or observed. One vehicle was inoperable and towed from the scene. Randy Wayne Burdick, 63, of Eckert was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way proceeding from a stop sign.

An officer responded to D&I Auto Sales, 640 Highway 92, on a report of auto theft.

An officer responded the hospital to take a report of a dog bite that occurred in the 800 block of Huff Street.

An officer took a report of theft from a vehicle.

Martin Suarez-Estrada, 40, of Olathe was arrested and jailed on two warrants, one with no bond and the other with a $2,000 bond.

Reminder: The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.



From the Delta County Sheriff's Office (partial list):

March 19:

Jon Jeffryes of Delta was arrested for a protection order violation and resisting arrest.

In response to a complaint about a dog running at large in the Eckert area, the owner was issued a written warning.

The Delta County Sheriff's Office took a report of a possible domestic violence incident that occurred while two parties were traveling on Highway 50. Deputies spoke with the female victim and were unable to determine an exact location of the incident. The male suspect is currently hospitalized at St. Mary's. The investigation is continuing.

Christa Moulder of Eckert was arrested for a protection order violation.

Sheriff's deputies assisted another agency with an investigation into a "sexting" situation involving several juveniles at a local high school. This case is under investigation.

March 20:

Deputies took a report about a dog that had killed three goats at an address on B50 Road, Delta. The victim did not wish to pursue charges.

March 21:

After responding to a disturbance on SE Deer Creek Drive, along with the Cedaredge Police Department, Christopher Johnson was arrested for violation of a protection order.

Deputies responded to an address of 25 Mesa Road to investigate a fire that destroyed a camper trailer. The trailer was located in a large open field and was reportedly in very poor condition. Due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire, the case remains under investigation.

Justin Rundle of Hotchkiss was arrested on a felony warrant out of Delta County.

March 22:

A fire was reported at a chicken coop on O Road near Paonia. The fire was about five feet from the main residence. A heat lamp is the suspected cause of the blaze.

Deputies responded to an address near Hotchkiss in reference to a man who was threatening to commit suicide.

After a traffic stop near the Cory Store, Gabriel Jimenez-Silvestre of Delta was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

March 23:

The theft of a vehicle from an address on F Road was reported.
