Oct. 24:

Three juvenile males of Delta were issued a summons for illegal possession/consumption of marijuana by an underage person (MIP).

Oct. 25:

Justin D. Rundle, 33, of Delta was issued a summons for harassment.

Natasha L. Miller, 31, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,000 bond.

Oct. 26:

River M.J. Glimpse, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a no bond.

Joby E. Wright, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of violation of protection order with a $1,500 bond.

Oct. 27:

Sydney L. Abeyta, 25, of Grand Junction, was arrested and jailed on charges of theft.

Jesse Mcafee, 34, of Eckert, was arrested and jailed on a warrant.

Oct. 28:

David J. Ortiz, 41, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed on warrants with a bond of $1,700.

Arturo Macias-Toro, 51, of Delta was arrested and jailed on charges of driving under the influence.

Citations: Nine tickets were issued this week for various traffic violations.

Oct. 23:

A handgun found in a returned U-Haul truck was handed over to the sheriff's office.

Oct. 24:

An Orchard City resident expressed concern about three horses that are not being properly cared for.

An Eckert resident said he lost a rifle from a trailer he was towing toward Surface Creek Road. The Winchester 30-06 has a Leopold scope and wood stock and is in a tan leather case.

Oct. 26:

Deputies took a report from an accident victim who was being treated in the hospital emergency room. Manuel Rubio, 70, of El Paso, Texas, had rolled his four-wheeler on West Pipeline Road the previous day. He continued up to hunting camp, but the next day sought treatment for pain in his side.

Oct. 27:

Another cold report was taken at the hospital emergency room, for Jonathan Zavala, 35, who wrecked his dirt bike in the 'dobies near Delta the previous night.

Susan Hirsch, 44, of Cedaredge clipped two power poles with a trailer while driving down Surface Creek Road at about 8 p.m. Power lines were knocked down onto the road. Deputies diverted traffic while the Colorado State Patrol conducted the investigation.

Oct. 28:

An 80-year-old Austin man was reported missing when he failed to return from a walk the previous afternoon. After being contacted the next morning, deputies found the man on his property, where he had fallen and was unable to get up. EMTs transported the man to the hospital for observation.

Thomas Aley, 58, of Paonia was involved in a single-car rollover on Pitkin Road near Bethlehem Road. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.

Deputies assisted hospital staff with an unruly patient at about 8 p.m. Delta Police Department received the initial call but officers were tied up elsewhere.

A red Toyota flatbed pickup was reported "hooked" on a rock on Escalante Canyon Road about three miles west of Highway 50. Deputies found the vehicle about 25 feet off the side of the road. It was occupied by a man, woman, child and dog; none were injured. Ernest Oberloh, 55, of Montrose, was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence, careless driving, violation of a protection order, and child abuse and endangerment.

Vinton Cannon was reportedly the victim of an assault by Jesse Sheffield, 38, and Dustin Cannon, 39, both of Delta. They were each issued a summons for third degree assault after deputies observed injuries to Vinton Cannon's face, allegedly from a quirt the two men carried when they met Vinton Cannon, 57, of Delta on horseback in Peach Valley.

At about 10 p.m., Theodore Wecker, 23, of Hotchkiss reported he was struck by a car while out running on 3100 Road near Hotchkiss. Wecker was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital for treatment; the Colorado State Patrol took over the investigation.

Oct. 29:

At approximately 10:04 a.m., DPD officers responded to a second story garage fire at 1140 Meeker Street. The exact cause of the fire is unknown but it did not appear to be suspicious according to firefighters.
