Linda Bertrand died Sept. 11, 2017, of cancer. She was 65.
Mary Linda Reid was born in Delta on July 1, 1952, to Halbert and Nell (Hanes) Reid. She grew up in Delta but spent many summers in California. When she was young, she traveled with her family to Mexico, Egypt, Greece and Italy.
On July 2, 1968, she married John Bertrand. They were married for over 30 years before they divorced, but remained close friends and business partners, operating Jet Strip Furniture Stripping in Boulder and then later in Longmont. She was a talented furniture restorer and a longtime volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society.
On June 22, 2003, she married Adrian Collier at the Old Mill Park in Longmont.
Mrs. Bertrand enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Adrian Collier; son, Chris (Lisa) Bertrand of Loma; daughter, Jaime (Robert) Rehder of Longmont; grandchildren, Ashlyn and Kimberly Bertrand, both of Boulder, Christopher Bertrand of Loma, and Jadelyn and Amelia Rehder of Longmont; brother, Hal Reid; and her ex-husband and close friend, John Bertrand.
No services are scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory handled the arrangements.
On Dec. 2, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a report of an assault. Officers spoke with a 64-year-old male with a bleeding injury on his neck.
