The popular, twice monthly Bingo Nights hosted by Surface Creek Valley Lions Club will he held at a new location beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1.

The new location is at Masonic Hall.

The Lions will continue to provide dinner for their Bingo Night guests beginning at 6 p.m. The first dinner in the new location will feature an entrée of creamy, hearty homemade ham and potato soup, organizers said. Club members note that the level parking lot at Masonic Hall will provide easier access for players.

The Bingo fun will start at 7 p.m. sharp.

The twice monthly Bingo Nights each first and third Wednesday provide a friendly social atmosphere with plenty of that "just one more number" excitement. The events raise money for many community projects the Lions support including scholarships for graduating Cedaredge High School seniors.

The Lions International organization is observing its 100th year in 2017. Locally, The Surface Creek Valley Lions Club has been active and providing essential community services for 45 years, an achievement the club's members are proud of.

Bingo Nights have been a regular part of the community's social life for over two years. The Lions who work to stage them do so on a completely volunteer basis and all the money raised goes to community projects and causes. The Lions volunteers also prepare and offer the homemade evening dinner for their guests.

Bingo Nights are only one of the Club's community service activities. Many Surface Creek Valley residents will be greeted by the club's friendly members at the upcoming 2017 Health Fair events held at the Civic Center in February and March. The local Health Fair would not be possible without the volunteer services provided by members of the local Lions Club.

An evening of Bingo is only $10 per card for an evening of ten different games. Players can play as many cards at $10 each as they are able to manage.

There were over 30 people at the last Bingo Night event, a good mid-winter turnout even with another popular fund raising event taking place the same evening. The total payout for game winnings was well over $300 with the three biggest games of the night paying $50, $50 and $80.

Lions is a community organization that does much good. Members have fun together doing good works for their neighbors. Getting involved and becoming a contributing part of the community is as easy as calling club member Pat Means at 970-640-6614 and attending the next club meeting.
