Bob Lario and Linda Lario, owners of RE/MAX Mountain West, were presented the REALTOR® Emeritus Award June 12 at the Delta County Board of REALTORS® monthly membership meeting.
The REALTOR® Emeritus designation is the most prestigious and highest honor that can be bestowed on a member by the National Association of REALTORS®. REALTORS® who has maintained membership in the National Association for a cumulative period of 40 years and has served in a leadership position at the local, state or national levels is eligible for this award.
Not all real estate professionals are REALTORS®, a trademarked term which specifically identifies someone as a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and one who pledges to abide by a strict code of ethics and standards of practice.
In a letter written to Bob and Linda, the National Association of REALTORS® president, John Smaby wrote, "We are keenly aware that the long and faithful service, for which you are being honored, reflects myriad efforts and activities on behalf of the Association or Association of REALTORS®, of which you have been a member. We know the leadership effort that is exerted by REALTORS® as they serve on committees, as officers and directors of associations, and in many civic activities that are connected with membership in an Association of REALTORS®."
The Colorado Association of REALTORS® chair, Justin Knoll and chief executive officer, Tyrone Adams, added their congratulations in writing stating, "We feel very fortunate to have DCBOR [Delta County Board of REALTORS®] members who have remained dedicated and active as a REALTOR®. On behalf of the Colorado Association of REALTORS®, we want to congratulate them."
