Loyce Anderson died of natural causes in Delta Sept. 20, 2018. She was 83.

A private family inurnment has taken place at Delta Cemetery, and was followed by a memorial Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Father Tom Seibert officiating.

Loyce Nadine Reifel was born Sept. 8, 1935, in Watertown, S.D., to Ben and Alice (Johnson) Reifel. Her childhood was spent in several places, including South Dakota, Boston, Mass., North Dakota and Texas. After attending 13 different schools, she graduated from high school in 1953 at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

She attended South Dakota State University in Brookings from 1953 to 1957 and graduated with dual bachelor's degrees in sociology and home economics.

She married Emery Anderson in Brookings, S.D., on June 8, 1957. He died on Nov. 16, 2008, after 51 years of marriage.

The Andersons lived in Brookings, S.D., Boze-man, Mont., Fargo, N.D., Culbertson, Mont., and in Delta, Hesperus and Holyoke. They moved to Saratoga, Wyo., before returning to Delta in 2002.

Mrs. Anderson was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Delta, serving on vestry and assisting with the yearly rummage sale.

She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, experimenting with new recipes and playing cards. She also golfed with her husband, and was active in a bowling league, two bridge clubs and a square dance group. They traveled throughout the U.S. and spent several weeks in Sweden.

She is survived by three daughters, Lisa (Bill) Moss of Lander, Wyo., Laurie of Delta and Valerie (Landon) Cox of Colorado Springs; six grandchildren, Jaime Moss of Lander, Wyo., Chauncenia Carroll, Tayanita Olavarria and Nakoa Cox, all of Colorado Springs, Alishaunia Cox of Boulder and Ikechi of Delta.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Anderson; and grandson, Justin Moss.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ben Reifel Memorial Fund Endowment or the Alice Johnson Scholarship Endowment at SDSU Foundation, Lohr Building, 815 Medary Ave., Brookings, SD 57006.

Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
