Marguerite A. Wilson died Aug. 31, 2018, in Delta, at the age of 92.
She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Morgan City, La., to Gaston and Bernice (Stephens) Ayo. She graduated from high school in Morgan City and attended Spencer's College in Lafayette, La.
On Easter Sunday, April 21, 1946, she married David Wilson at the Sacred Heart Church. They lived in Louisiana and Colorado.
Mrs. Wilson worked at her father's machine shop as a bookkeeper and eventually moved to Idaho Springs where she focused on raising her family. She and her husband retired to the Western Slope in the late 1980s.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, creating southern cuisine, and arts and crafts, including crocheting, sewing and ceramics. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Delta.
She is survived by two brothers, Thomas Ayo of Louisiana and Richard Ayo of Missouri; two sons, Dale Wilson of Delta and Glenn Wilson of Austin; a granddaughter, April Wilson of Austin; and a great-granddaughter, Jordin Osburn of Austin.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the Delta City Cemetery.
