Austin resident Marvin R. Stephens died Sept. 17, 2017, at his home. He was 86.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Coe of Austin; three sons, John (Kathy) Stephens of Cheyenne, Wyo., Justin (Crystal) Coe and Lonnie Coe, all of Austin; two daughters, Jeri Stephens of Delta and Cathy Heaps of Grand Junction; two brothers, Everett Stephens of Delta and Jerry (Kay) Stephens of Wisconsin; one sister, Ruth Ellen (Ken) McKenzie of Battle Mountain, Nev.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Stephens; and a grandson, Alias Coe.

During a preliminary hearing in Delta District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Judge Steven Schultz found probable cause for second degree murder charges against Heather Jones.
Jones previously faced three counts in the shooting of Ryan Redifer in Paonia on Jan. 12, 2018 -- assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree and violation of a protection order.
