Cedaredge residents passing by the Pioneer Town parking lot last Thursday may have noticed the presence of several law enforcement vehicles with lights flashing. On the afternoon of Oct. 19, the Cedaredge Police Department posted the following explanation on its Facebook page:
"On Oct. 18, Cedaredge Police Department (CPD) conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of South Grand Mesa Drive. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle the officer established that there was reasonable suspicion that there may have been illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Due to this the CPD K9 Unit was utilized. The K9 sniff proved positive and upon probable cause search of the vehicle, approximately four grams of methamphetamine and 11 grams of heroin were found with numerous other narcotic related paraphernalia. One female occupant was arrested for outstanding warrants and felony possession of class II controlled substance, one male occupant was arrested for restraining order and bond violations, and the male driver was summoned for felony possession of class II controlled substance."
According to records provided by the Delta County Sheriff's Office, the three individuals involved in the arrest were Michael Sexton, Nicole McCollough and Shane Rose.
