Commencement speaker promises a memorable send-off

Sandi Spika Borchetta, a 1978 graduate of Delta High School, will be the featured speaker at graduation ceremonies Monday, May 20, at Panther Stadium. The momentous event begins at 7 p.m.

"I encourage the community to support the amazing graduates and attend this year's commencement ceremony," she said. "I can ensure you that it will not be your normal graduation ceremony! Let's celebrate together and honor Delta's seniors who are the future community and world leaders!"

Borchetta is bringing a special guest -- Saveria Dipp, the 2019 winner of the Belle Media TV show "The Launch." Borchetta serves as creative consultant on the show, which is the brainchild of her husband, Scott Borchetta. The Launch is a talent show with a twist. It matches an incredible singer with a pre-selected unreleased new song written by a top songwriter/producer. Saveria was a winner on Season 2. Borchetta was previously honored to share her message, "Luck is 95% Hard Work" with 2014 DHS graduates, and is thrilled to be asked to speak again this year.

Sandi Spika Borchetta serves as senior vice president of creative for the Big Machine Label Group, overseeing the vision across each of the company's imprints and corporate initiatives. Her keen eye extends to managing the aesthetics of music videos, photography and product packaging. Borchetta has led her team to multiple CMT, ACM and CMA Video of the Year wins as well as numerous Davey Awards and a coveted Clio Award.

Throughout her tenure in the industry, she has crafted fashion masterpieces from Taylor Swift's flowing cream silk gown in the 2009 award-winning "Love Story" music video to Reba McEntire's iconic "red dress," worn during the 1993 CMA Awards. She has also styled artists such as Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Justin Moore, Brantley Gilbert and Kenny Rogers among others. Borchetta's work has been featured in the GRAMMY Hall of Fame and Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and has also appeared in Seventeen, Blender, InStyle, Rolling Stone, Fortune Magazine, People, Ladies Home Journal, USA Today, McCalls and TV Guide.

Sandi was selected for Billboard's 2014 Top 50 Women In Music.

She has designed everything from red carpet gowns, suits and footwear to cars, jet interiors, video and photo sets, wardrobe for film, and residential and commercial interiors.

In 2011, Spika Borchetta was inducted into the Tennessee Costume and Textile Institutes for her work as a stylist and fashion designer. She is a Tiffany Circle member of the American Red Cross and a board member of the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. She is currently designing "The Big Machine Records" hospital wing specializing in infant and toddler care.

Sandi and her husband of 18 years, Scott Borchetta, created the Music Has Value Fund in 2015 to provide financial endowments to nonprofit organizations which support those who make, aspire to make and appreciate music. Additionally, the pair have been instrumental in leading Big Machine Label Group's longstanding partnership with General Mills' groundbreaking hunger initiative, Outnumber Hunger, which has helped provide over 50 million meals to America's hungry through Feeding America. They are longtime supporters of the Starkey Hearing Foundation, TJ Martell Foundation, Hands On Nashville, Music Cares, American Cancer Research, City of Hope, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and more.
