The Bill Heddles Recreation Center is excited to officially announce that it opened the facility Monday, June 1. Operating hours will be Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. by appointment only.
In order to comply with general and fitness facility orders set forth by both Delta County Public Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, there will be several policy and procedural changes that are implemented to keep patrons and staff safe. These temporary changes are required for the facility to open its doors.
During this period of limited use the swimming pool, sauna, locker rooms, showers, basketball courts and racquetball courts will remain closed. Each guest will be required to make a reservation before attending the recreation center, and limitations on capacity and social distancing will be in place.
Only Delta County residents are allowed to use the facility at this time, and masks are required except while exercising. Patrons are required to maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from one another and staff, and anyone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter the facility for a minimum of 14 days.
The staff of the Bill Heddles Recreation Center hopes that by opening the facility, it will allow the Delta County community to improve their health, both physically and mentally.
“We hope that opening our doors, even with limited capacity, can help get the community back on track to healthy routines and help reduce stress,” stated Renee Ealey, recreation manager.
Reservations can be made by calling 970-874-0923. More information on the outlined policy and procedural changes, as well as more detailed information on the reservation process, can be viewed at cityofdelta.net.
