The Cedaredge Board of Trustees will be holding a special meeting meeting Thursday, Jan. 9 at 5 p.m. at the Cedaredge Town Hall in regards to a petition to create a ballot measure to form the Town of Cedaredge Golf Course General Improvement District, according to the meeting packet on the Town of Cedaredge website.

The General Improvement District will include the golf course territories of Stonegate, Stonebridge, Deer Creek, South Village and the back nine undivided area of the residual parcel of Stonecrest Village. In the event of the board approving the petition, the measure will be included on the ballot for the April 7 election. Should the initiative pass in the election, residents of the previously listed territories will be taxed an additional 14 mills in order to create revenue for the capital improvement fund that could then be used for the golf course, according to the petition, which is included in the meeting packet.

The special meeting will be open to the public and will include time for residents to speak in favor of the petition and time for residents to speak against it. Based off community input, the Cedaredge Board of Trustees will then vote on whether or not to approve the petition and add the measure to the ballot for the April 7 election.

More information on the meeting and the petition can be found on the Town of Cedaredge website, at cedaredgecolorado.com, under “Agendas and Minutes.”
