The Cedaredge Tree Board annually offers several free events including the following four happenings:

1) Sick Tree Day offers free yard visits by board members to help solve homeowner tree problems on Saturday, June 19. Registration is open to all Surface Creek residents. Because of time constraints visits are limited to the first 15 to sign up. The tree board has three Colorado Master Gardeners and will be led by Vince Urbina who recently retired from the Colorado State Forest Service. 2) A free pruning workshop is scheduled by tree board in partnership with the The Learning Council and the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, Sunday morning, June 20. Vince Urbina, recently retired from the Colorado State Forest Service is our expert presenter. We will meet at the Chapel of the Cross behind Pioneer Town. Registration open to all Delta County residents. You must reserve a place by calling 970-856-3123 or visiting the Cedaredge Town Hall.

3) A free tour of the Charlie Baker Arboretum behind Pioneer Town is being offered for free by the tree board in partnership with The Learning Council and the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society on Sunday morning, Sept. 12. The tour will start at the Chapel of the Cross and is led by tree expert Vince Urbina. You must reserve a place by calling 970-856-3123 or visiting the Cedaredge Town Hall.

4) The Cedaredge Tree Board will again have an information booth at Applefest, Oct. 2 and 3. Tree board members and Colorado Master Gardeners will be available to answer all your gardening questions. There will be a free drawing for prizes, informative handouts and a children’s contest. We hope to see you there.
