The Delta City Council is actively seeking persons interested in three open positions on the Delta Planning Commission.
“The planning commission is made up of seven qualified electors of the City of Delta. Currently two positions are available for the full three-year term. One position is for a remainder of a current term that expires in one year,” said City Clerk Jolene Nelson, in a recent press release.
The planning commission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the City council chambers. Members will also be required to attend special meetings as needed.
Persons interested in serving on the planning commission need to submit their applications to the City Clerk, 360 Main St., Delta, Colorado, 81416 by Friday, March 6.
Applications are available at the city clerk’s office or on the city’s website at cityofdelta.net.
Planning commission members’ duties include preparing and recommending to the city council both a comprehensive plan for the physical development of Delta and an annual five-year capital improvement plan.
The planning commission also reviews subdivision plats with recommendations to the council. It holds public hearings on and make recommendations to the council concerning zoning matters. It reviews and makes decisions concerning uses subject to review, changes in nonconforming uses and variances.
