Last weekend was Color Weekend on the Grand Mesa, and it attracted a crowd to the world’s largest flattop mountain. Color Weekend, the time of the year when the fall colors are said to be at their most beautiful, is a time when the Powderhorn ski resort starts up its ski lifts and sells tickets for people to ride. Atop the lifts, passengers can view the fall colors for miles around as they move up the hill.

The Grand Mesa, peaking at 11,332 feet, is a prime location for observing the trees that cover the land, at Powderhorn, through valleys and mountains, and around lakes.
