The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has confirmed 117 COVID-19 cases in Delta County as of Aug. 6. Case 116 is a female in her 20’s self-isolating at home and case 117 is a teen under the care of his parents.
To date, Delta County Health Department reports 87 positive cases and 30 individuals who have been in close contact with an individual who tested positive and have experienced COVID-19 symptoms. One hundred individuals have recovered and the county continues to report one death due to the virus.
The county passed 100 cases on July 28 with two new cases reported that day.
The Delta County Sheriff’s office remains “active” on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) outbreak report for Aug. 7. The office was designated an outbreak on July 22 when three staff tested positive. The county was notified on July 29 according to a county spokesperson. The law enforcement office will be removed once it completes 30 days without additional positive COVID-19 tests results.
