On  March 13, the Zeta Omicron chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) hosted its annual Irish Stew Luncheon in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day. The event was a fundraiser for the organization’s scholarship program, and it ultimately raised over $1,200.

110 meals were initially delivered to businesses and individuals in the Cedaredge area and more than 70 people gathered at the Masonic Hall to have some beef stew or creamy potato soup with a roll, salad, dessert and beverage.

Proceeds will be used to fund a scholarship for a graduating high school senior who plans to go into a vocational trade.

Seniors who wish to apply for the scholarship funded by the Irish Stew Luncheon may pick up applications at the counselor’s office at Cedaredge High School once schools open again. The deadline is April 10.

Carol Vela of the ESA said in an email, “Members of Zeta Omicron are very appreciative of the support received from the Surface Creek community. The support allows us to give back to the community in several ways.”
