The Delta Police Department (DPD) reported Tuesday afternoon that officers of the department had dealt with a fatal single-vehicle accident in the area of Highway 50 and H75 Road, Delta which killed wife and mother of four, Briana Briceno-Reuda, 29, according to the Delta County Coroner's Office.

Reuda was a resident of Montrose. The investigations into the accident are still ongoing and no cause for the crash has been confirmed at this time.

According to DPD, At about 6:20 a.m. on May 8, DPD was advised of the single-vehicle collision. Officers arrived at the address and discovered that Reuda was deceased on scene and appeared to be the sole occupant of the vehicle.

An initial investigation shows that the vehicle was traveling east on Highway 50, crossed the westbound lanes of travel, drove off a small embankment and then became airborne where it collided with a residence in the area. The vehicle came to rest in the back yard of another residence.

No one inside the residence was injured.
